2024 AGM Update

The Burners 2024 AGM was held in the welcoming, if unfamiliar, surroundings of Ardfin Road in Prestwick on Sunday 25th February. JP and Jo took care of the presentations as usual, with Stephen providing a detailed Treasurer’s Report.

Among the key points to note were –

1. Sponsorship

It is possible / likely that sponsorship from both QTS and Savoy Park Hotel may be coming to an end shortly. While club funds remain healthy, this is an aspect to consider going forward once the position is clearer

2.Charity Partner

Bobby suggested that it would be good if the club had a charity partner, ideally local. Suggestions are welcome for consideration by the committee, and how that could work.

3.Storage

The club has a large amount of kit stored at the Savoy Park, and we’ll need to find a home for it shortly. If anyone has any suitable space please let us know.

4.Social evening

Anne suggested that it would be a good idea to have an evening social event mid-year. That was a popular suggestion, so we’re aiming for Saturday 22nd June. Watch out here, on FB and WhatsApp for further details !!!!

5.New Riders

It was pointed out that the number of members is consistent – but that we’re all gradually ageing (some more gracefully than others !!!). A number of ‘newbies’ days have been planned and have received positive responses on Facebook. All we need now is for good weather to co-incide with these to encourage folk to come along.

As well as all the formal business, there were several prizes to be handed out

John took the prize for the Summer Series
Marcus did a huge total to take the Mileage prize
Jude and Alex retained their Ronde van Ayrlaanderen titles (Jude picked up both).

Unfortunately, Calum wasn’t there to collect his prize for winning the Elevation challenge – it was past his bed-time !!!
