As the stunning weather conditions continued Ayr Burners Cycling QTS rolled out on two wheels across Ayrshire and beyond.
On Saturday morning the Burns Centre bunch enjoyed a relaxed start to the weekend with a steady 30 miles, whilst later on in the afternoon some unchartered territory beckoned for another group of Burners. The route started in Largs with a tarmac ascent of the Hailie Brae before veering off road into the Kelburn WindFarm which rises high above the coast, eventually arriving onto the Fairlie Moor. Terrific views across the Firth and beyond were enjoyed before finishing with a blast down the Kelburn MTB trails and an Ice Cream back in Largs.
Troon promenade was the rendezvous point on Sunday morning for 27 Burners, Flames, and Sparks for the ‘Surf and Turf’ family ride which was part of the Ayr ActiveTravel Hub activity partnership. A meander along the beach front followed by the traffic free coastal cycle path was a perfect route for tag alongs and trailers, with a couple of stops along the way for a quick game of tig. Yet again, Ice Cream featured as a fitting finale to a jolly jaunt in the sunshine.
